A student of yoga since 1997, Richard (EYT-500) first became certified to teach in 2013 by Sue Elkind and Naime Jezzeny at Dig Yoga in Lambertville, NJ, and completed his advanced training (including certificates in ropes, slings and chairs) in 2020 with Alison West and Kaitlyn Hipple at Yoga Union in New York City. He also went on his first pilgrimage to India in 2017 studying Rajanaka Tantra with Dr. Douglas Brooks, and vows to return! Recognizing that yoga is essential in weaving together family, a life in music, and a career in finance, he is excited to share his perspective with you.
Richard enjoys delving into many different styles of hatha yoga, and loves to incorporate aspects from all of them into his classes. He believes that through a disciplined exploration of body and creative movement, and an openness to every experience, we can learn to discover our true selves and purpose. Students should expect to align, breathe, play and reflect.
