Maya Castellon
Yoga Instructor

Maya teaches to share the experience of opening body to breath, and breath to heart and mind. Her classes explore the art of dynamic extension, balance, strength and mobility. She continues to be drawn to the transformative power of Yoga and encourages her students of all ages and levels to approach their Yoga practice with joy, patience, and curiosity.

Maya has practiced Iyengar Yoga since 2006 and has traveled to the Ramamani Iyengar Memorial Institute in Pune, India in 2013 to train for an extended period with the Iyengar family. She is a graduate of the Iyengar Yoga Institue of New York teacher training program of 2015 and is a certified teacher (CIYT-1).

Maya is incredibly grateful for the depth of knowledge in the Iyengar Yoga tradition, and especially for her longtime teacher and mentor, Michelle LaRue.
One of Maya’s favorite quotes from B.K.S. Iyengar, “Yoga does not just change the way we see things, it transforms the person who sees.”
