Magi Pierce
Yoga Instructor

Magi Pierce found yoga in college and taught her first class in 2007. She continued teaching full time in Boston and when she moved to NYC in 2010 she landed at Kula Yoga Project and taught classes, workshops, retreats, and teacher trainings for the next 10 years. Covid invited a change of pace and she and her wife now live in Montclair with their 2 young daughters. Magi continues to teach both locally and in NYC.

Her study of yoga is rooted in the Iyengar and Vinyasa traditions notably with Nikki Costello, Ana Forrest, and Genny Kapuler. Her anatomy teaching is largely informed by KMI (Tom Myers et al) and Integral Anatomy (Gil Hedley) as well as ongoing study with a myriad of teachers. More recently, she is developing a focus on pelvic floor health.

Magi’s classes will receive you exactly where you are- there are strong foundations for newer students and nerdy nuggets for the more seasoned practitioners. With a strong backbone of alignment, flow and movement are balanced with time to focus and space to restore. She is perpetually fascinated by the intersections of anatomy and spirit and her insightful classes facilitate practitioner’s self-study with a way that is equal parts precise and kind.
